Coil choice

Urgent Please.

Can anyone who has used both the X70 and the X50 please indicate which coil that they would use for general detecting.

On the X50 I would use the 7.5 kHz. but not have a X70 would this also be the 7.5kHz for general detecting.

Thanks in advance,

Jerry.

for general hunting situations would be the (medium) 7.5 Khz but if you hunt in some very tough mineralized dirt I'd give the 3 Khz (low) a shot.

3 khz for more mineralized sites. Might be slightly deeper on silver than the 7.5.
7.5 khz best all around
18.75 khz for jewelry and lower conductive targets.

These are generalized according to what khz are normally better for ground and type of target you are hunting. Your area may be slightly different of which coil is better. The 3 khz coil can only be used on the X70. The 7.5 and 18.75 can be used on the X50.

First thanks you guys for your answers.

The reason for asking is that my m8 has to decide whether to buy the X50 like I have or find the extra cash for the X70 and another very low frequency coil.

He will now buy the X50,as mine is a cracking machine and we dont have trouble with mineralised ground.

He like I will enjoys using the silent detect mode compared with my chatty Explorer.
