Coil choice for Excal

As I posted below, I am going to make a trip to Panama City this month. I will have limited time to detect as I am going with the wife and kids. As a result of this I am thinking about buying a bigger coil for my Excal 1000 in order to cover more ground. Right now the two main contenders are the WOT and the Excelerator 16.5.
The WOT is obviously the smaller of the two but it does come pre-wired and includes instructions for wiring the detector which is a plus in my book.
I know that a bigger coil means covering more ground but is the ground coverage worth the weight and the expense? What would you guys suggest?

You are just completely ruling out water hunting, by installing this coil. They are too unruly, to handle in the water. Run it stock and then you will be able to hunt wet sand or water, with ease. 10" is about as large as you want to deal with in the surf. It is hard enough to control. Sometimes the loot is just in the water, be ready to go there! GH
