Coal dust and coal

Went hunting with my vaquero yesterday at a soccerfield and got alot of deep signals only to findpieces of coal or the soil saturated in coal dust. Is there a way to handle this problem? Thanks

I find coal from time to time here in Arkansas. Also one park ( newer one in town ) I have found a half dozen or so blocks ( size ranging) of graphite, while I don't know what they are till they are dug, I have also not played with them to find where they disc out at.

This location I am clad and jewelry hunting with the Cutlass uMax so disc is almost always set at 2 with the Sens boosted in the red. I don't run into coal enough to find it a problem in my area.

the coal is just like a hot rock , it will sound off in all metal on almost any detector, I found i could beat it in disc mode have to see if i still have some to mess with , but it can be a problem with any detector

If the ground balance on the detector you're using affects disc mode try setting the balance more positive. In the mild ground here pieces of coal respond exactly the same way as hot rocks, and can be tuned out by increasing the ground balance to a more positive setting.
