Coal and Belltones

Terry 2500

New member
When hunting any place that has coal in the area that is under the dirt I'll get a belltone from it. But if is on top the ground it will not sound off. I've been to a few places with coal scattered about and get belltones. Get's the blood pumping till you dig up that black hunk of @#!%:ranting:Has anyone had this problem and have you found away to take care of it:nerd:. Would a DD coil help ?

My 2500 will do the coin deal when we hunt around campground camp fires and hit charcoal lumps from where campers built a wood fire and it drives me nuts but I found a solution, not the right one but a solution; I dont hunt up next to the fire ring except with a small coil and usually a DD. It does not stop it it just keeps you from getting so overwhelmed with coin sounds.
O well if these things were perfect they would not call us Metal Detectorist: They would call us RICH!!
