Club hunts silver and gold

Yesterday I went to my first organized club hunt. The local chapter of the GPAA holds an annual hunt in several different categories and they were all fun. This is a planted hunt, so don't get too jealous of the finds. First hunt was the claimjumpers gold nugget hunt. We each got a 12"x 20" claim to search and then after 8 minutes, you jumped claim and searched another area. We were searching for small numbered pieces of lead that were then exchanged for gold nuggets! I got the two small ones on the left and my dad got the bigger pieces on the right. After lunch I signed up for the silver coin shoot and got all of these silver coins, it was a ton of fun and a great way to meet other wonderful people in this hobby. Wish I could be this successful on my own! Happy Hunting All!!

Those seeded hunts are so much fun and I LOVE the "claimjumpers" hunt! That's so cool. You both did great. Thanks for sharing and for the memories! HH to all, Nancy

Jon, are you a GPAA member?

Not a member, this was my first experience with them. A great group of folks, and if I did more gold hunting I would probably join.

Excellent scores jcooking! I can't wait to go on that hunt next year.
