Club hunt yesterday.

We had our club hunt yesterday at an old Christian camp that we have been to four times now and it amazes me that we keep pulling the old silver out of there. I don't have the total silver count, but my take was a 1906 S barber dime, 34 merc, 1899 V nickle, 1908 Indian, and 52 and 56 wheaties and some clad. The oldest coin was a no date shield nickle and the president of our club found her first barber dime, a 1892 O.....:) Good weather and a fun time for all. Anytime I find two coins over 100 years old it's a good day for me........:) HH.

I've found Seated dimes and quarters but haven't found a shield nickle yet. That and a large cent are at the top of my want list.

Nice Barber Dime! I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a Seated or 2 waiting for some Lucky Detectorist to uncover, and I hope that you are one of these Lucky Treasure Hunters if it does happen. Nice Coins Eddie and I look forward to joining up on all those great discoveries real soon. Just waiting for the ground to un-thaw a bit more. Good Luck and HH!

Thanks James. The barber was a nice surprise and one of those iffy signals. It was on edge in the hole so that's why I was getting an odd signal. I think I have to start digging more of those odd ones as I'm sure I may have passed up some other coins. Outside of that shield nickle that Bugsy got, that was the oldest coin found at the hunt. There might be a seated there, but after club hunts there four times you would think someone would have dug up a seated by now. I just remembered. Jack in our club did find that nice seated dime love bracelet there last year. I know how anxious you are to get out and I know you will light up this forum with some of your great finds from some of the places that you have done your research on. Best of luck buddy......:) I was talking with a guy at work today and he told me that he just bought this old farm not far from my place that dates back to 1918. Not sure what might be there, but I have it all to myself to hunt when he gets his renter out and he moves in. There is also another old farm just down the road from his place and he knows the owner and will get the information for me. I think this place is older than his as the old house is uninhabited and falling down. HH.

Thanks Mike. You have found two seated coins that I'm still looking for and one of these days I hope............. :) Where abouts in WA. are you located?

Eddie

Thanks Richard......... :) These old places for our club hunts are getting harder and harder to find these days, but there are still lots of old coins out there to find. Just do the research and you will find them. The year is still early Richard and I'm sure you will get your share of coins. Good luck and HH.

Thanks.........:) I think I have about eight V nickels now in my collection. They are out there. I guess you just have to be in the right place at the right time and hope your coil passes over one. I got two of them at our club hunt in Feb. HH.
