Club Hunt V3i settings,,any ??

I have a V3i and wondered,,is it a good machine to take on a club hunt,,,if so,,what settings is best to use ...mainly coins and tokens seeded on a beach ......thanks,,,HH..TIM

It's a great machine to take! Just make sure to set your frequency # different to anyone else that is using one for your wireless earphones.
I keep mine set at a strange number that I don't think anyone else would use.

I have used mine in many club and seeded hunts and no extra adjustments were necessary for me.

If it is seeded then the targets won't be deep. Works best if everybody turns down the gain and sensitivity. There is no need to be hearing the deeper targets and trash.

I just finished a club hunt with my VX3. I found over 60 coins, but none were nickels. All halves, quarters and dimes. I was using the factory Coin setting. I went back over later and worked on nickels that I had put out. The VX3 Coin program did not pick up the nickels consistently at the speed I was swinging .I had to slow down to pick up the nickels, which is hard to do when the clock is ticking.

This was a problem for me since all of the tokens were nickels. It was a great hunt with the Quartzsite, AZ Metal Detecting Club. 20,000 coins/tokens with 250 participants on about 3 acres of desert. This weekend, they are having a night hunt, with no lights allowed. Should be fun.

Try opening up the nickel window a little in Coins or better yet, use the C&J program. You also might want to speed up the recovery rate to 45 or 50.

thanks all for the info,,,,i remember i went on a hunt many years ago with a 6000 dipro( haa,,i still have it )...,,and i had to keep away from bounty hunters,,made the machine go crazy,,i like the idea of changing the frequencys to avoid this,,,and using the C & J is a good idea for nickel tokens,,,,,thanks again,,,,,,HH,,TIM
