Hi everyone, well I was at the Mother-in-Laws house this evening with my Tejon in her front yard when I got a nice little tone. I went down about 3 inches with my digger and out pops a Wheat Cent. Of course it was dirty and I started wiping away the dirt and began to see 195. I kept cleaning the penny and finally saw 1955 and the ole ticker got going and I wiped away the rest of the dirt and wouldn't you know it turned out to be a D mint mark! I thought for sure I might have a 1955 double die. So close but yet so far . de John the Wirechief out Blackwell way. :tesoro::usaflag::detecting:

I have found more than a couple '55s and each one gets me going till I see no DD. Anyway keep looking it's there somewhere!!!

Ok AD I will always be hoping for that 55 double die. I know when I was a teenager collecting coins that was the one me and my buddy always wanted for our collection. Thanks for the post and take care AD.

Found a very 1916 Merc once, somewhere along the way. No 'D' mint mark.
I can relate.
