Close up of the eagle coat button

This is the 2nd button with the bm Harrington & Rogue that I've found at this site. Both are complete and in good shape. I like finding any kind of CW period button!

Nice backmark, Brn. Don't see that one too often. The Harington and Bogue are listed in the backmark book as having ordered eagle C and I buttons from Scovills in 1864.

Nice find!

Thanks for the info Richard! Nearly all of the eagle buttons I find have the Scovill bm so I thought these were unusual. HH!

Very unusual! The more scarce BMs, such as Canfield, etc, command a bit more of a premium than the eagle buttons we usually find. My most uncommon is a Steel and Johnson. I do have a Connecticut cuff with the Cuban backmark. It was a run of Ct buttons that were joined with the wrong back before it was caught.

Very nice buttons, Mike.
