I am about to buy another machine have a chance to get the T2 or tech. omega have read good things about both and am really up in the air at this point so need some input from some of you who own these machine's.I coin hunt mostly tot Lot's old places and relic hunt on occasion also beach about once a year.
So if any of you could help me out I would be more than grateful as my head is spinning from reading all the post and watching videos.

thanks

If its relic hunting you are interested in T2 Special Edition will be my next unit. I have the G2 by Teknetics its a great machine too.

I can't say about the beach I don't live close to any but I can honestly say the omega is deadly on coins.
Seems everytime I go to the park I bring home more clad each time than I ever did with the mxt and I've had pretty good luck at finding old stuff what little I've tried for that.
I had mine up for sale but after the last couple times to the park I've about decided to keep it I don't think there's anything out there that will do any better and a lot of them not as good for coinshooting and that's what I do most.
You say you coin hunt mostly also I would say the omega or gamma either one would serve you well.

I have the Omega and I do all types of hunting except the beach.Don't live close enough:( ..For what its worth, I really like the machine.Never tried a T2 though, but would like to..For the money I think the Omega is hard to beat for general all around hunting.Mid range price and it goes deep..

I watch the cherry on a new detector G6000 break lose on a 1964 dime about 5 inches in and the first day used. And the O8000 is no different. :teknetics: #1

I hunt with the T-2, hunted with a friend that used the Omega and he had bad E.M.I issues where my T-2 was pretty quiet. Tom

I had a T 2, sold it to buy a F 75 LTD and currently, also have the Omega. The Omega is a coin shooting delight. It has decent depth, solid vid readings and a nice selection of coils and I never felt it had any more emi issues then the T 2, to mention a few of its attributes. The T 2, though, was definitely deeper for me. If emi was a problem with the T 2, it still had good depth at mid range sen settings. With the right coils, both work great in trash. The lower frequency of the Omega allows it to really pop coins, new or older ones. My LTD is my go to machine, but I really miss the T 2 and would be hard pressed to be without the Omega. Sorry, I really am not much help. HH jim tn

It hits silver just as well as it does clad. Its the machine my boy uses and he is catching on quick! He loves it.

I also sold my 8000.Great unit out in the woods ,but in towns the emi issues were tough at times.
I use the T2 SE and the F75 LIMITED.
Great machines. They are used out in the stix ,so emi issues are not a issue.
Still looking for a great coin machine that will handle the emi in towns.

So far I seem to be doing fairly well on coins with my Omega, yes at time I have issues with EMI but I don't think its causing me to miss any coins, guess I'll find out when I rehunt some of the area's with my other detector. HH and good luck with which ever machine you finally decide on. Jimmie

I'm enjoying my T2 and I've yet to have any bad EMI issues even under the powerlines here. If I get some chatter usually changing the freq makes it go away.

I have the Omega and also a Fisher F2...The F2 is a coin killer...The Omega is an F2 on Steroids! I really haven't had much EMI issues and as of late, my hunting has been in urban areas. Most of the parks I hunt, I can run almost if not, wide open. The other day hunted a 1920's era neighboorhood with overhead electric & phone lines and had Sensitivity down to 85. At 90 I had very minimal chatter.

The Omega is a nice coin-hunter.

The Omega is definitely a very good detector. I've made many good finds since I bought mine a year ago, and I've found some deep coins, coins in trash, and several months I've had decent quantities of coins, too.

Yes, there are times when I have EMI issues with the Omega, and the T2. Very seldom with the G2 or Delta or Gamma by comparison. I've also met EMI challenges when hunting with a White's XDLT, XL Pro, and especially and M6 and MXT. As with any high-power, high-gain circuitry it just calls for reducing the Gain a little to get control. Not all places are bad.

The caution is that you can re-hunt the area with the Omega, find stuff, and wonder how you missed it before. You could re-hunt it with a lot of detectors and find stuff, but that wouldn't mean the Omega didn't or couldn't.

Maybe you could re-hunt it with your other detector ... but have the Omega tag along ... then, check any target found with the Omega to see how they compare. I think in the end that would really tell a better story than just hunting it again with something else only.

I know I'll look forward to your results, either way, but a double-check is both educational and fun.

Monte

Thanks to everyone will be buying the T2 today and look forward to the deeper finds!
will keep you posted.

I agree Monte it's nice to have the extra power there when you need it I was worried about my omega because in the area I live I can't run the gain more than about half but have since got to swing it more and have learned it still does great with the gain lowered.
My first detector had a gain or sen I think was what it called it and I could run it wide open anywhere I went but I think the deepest target I ever got was maybe about 6" and I have dug several targets at 7"+ with the mxt and omega with about 3/4 or less gain so full gain don't always mean it's getting deeper if the power is just not there.
