Dug this ring yesterday and at first thought "holy buckets", a biggie !!

And then at home under a magnifier I saw 18 K !! But then I saw it was followed by HGE = heavy gold electroplating Oh well, it encourages me for the real deal one of these days. steve in so az

HGE means there's only a plating of gold - but it's fused with the base metal. GP is gold plating and it's like chroming a bumper - light coating on the surface only. The refinery can take the HGE off so I will keep it for then, Steve
