Close but no cigar for the Compadre, almost 1800s

Checking the side yard with the Compadre this evening. Was hoping to get back into the 1800's. Almost made it. This V nickel is 1900. Also found an unfired 45 auto round likely from the 1920's judging by the headstamp. Of course there was also a nice collection of square nail heads, brads, and another tiny button or tack head. Hard to tell on that last one it's really small but may have a symbol or some writing on it. The little Compadre is a sweet little unit and it performs well. Got an invite today from a neighbor to check another old property he just acquired. It's a block closer to the river and just down from the location of a old mid 1800's fort. Should be fun when I get a chance next weekend.

You will have to let us know on that new spot , it sounds very interesting, lets hope the V cleans up good

If you detect in soil like I do, most all the nickels are toast, except for war nickels. You're lucky it has a readable date on it. Nice going.

I hope the other location works out great for you. Let us know what you find there with the mighty Compadre.
