Clock on ctx works only when turned on

ATF382

New member
When I turn the machine on the clock does not display the correct time. I reset it and as long as the detector is on it works. After shutting the detector off and turning it back on the time
displayed is the same as when I previously shut it off. Does anyone have any suggestions how to correct this issue.

Thanks
Tony

Clock? What clock? My CTX doesnt have a clock.

The clock is in the center of the upper bar at the top of the screen. To setup the clock you go to option function scroll down to locality and highlight "set time" You set current time based on your time zone.. Hope that helps

Do you have GPS time Sync turned on? I might have an older owners manual but setting the clock is covered on page 49 of mine.

I can't believe that with all the hours I have used this detector, I never paid attention to the fact there is a clock!

Most of the time the clock is covered by the target ID numbers making it impossible to read.

Normally, I only look at the screen to see what the target trace is doing before I dig.

It's a real good feature but it's way too small. Didn't anyone notice (or care) when field testing the units before release? I rely on it regularly out in the field and was hoping for some type of upgrade to address the size. I guess if they made it bigger they would have to move it as well?

There are actually two clocks on the CTX. The second one is less well known, but here's the secret.

Hold the detector vertically with the coil flat on the ground. Examine the shadow cast by the stem across the coil circle. Read the time as you would on any sundial. Isn't technology amazing.;)

I cant see that little clock either so I wear a wrist watch. Not trying to be a smart a@@ but that is actually what I did, made sure I wore some sort of Casio or Timex.

Now that I know it's there, I tried to look for it on my last hunt. But as was stated by another, it's always covered by the FE-CO reading.
