Climbing waterfalls with the Ace

Ian (Japan)

New member
A two hour hunt with the Ace 150 this afternoon. At the top of a nearby river. Have been there once before with the Sea Hunter, lots of iron but couldn't find any coins, so hadn't been back. On a mountain above the river there used to be a castle (i.e. Samurai era) so I've always wanted to have a look around the lower slopes and the river. Wasn't really expecting coins today so quite enjoyed popping them out here and there - 92 yen in total. They are from 1964 or newer, mostly around 1970.
Hard to believe that just a few minutes away there's a sprawling city with millions of people!
Climbed up, over, and around many stone waterfalls. Except for the mosquitos, a great time outdoors!

That stonework is very impressive; I like the way the stones are stacked on the diagonal. Is that of recent construction?

After all that climbing and having to deal with the bugs, you'll appreciate the beach all the more.

Nice post.

Heard there was major work done to the river from 1912 though.
Here is a bit of history about the city.
Today I was hunting the northern part of the river - it runs from the north to the south.

Came across the results of an old landslide along the upper west bank and right down to the river, that looks interesting for more hunts and a chance at really old stuff.

Pic of my younger son jumping in last year - below where I was today. Must be some coins and maybe even a bit of jewelery in there because a lot of people (adults included) have done that jump over the years. That is the main area where people usually go too (about 30 people there today - Monday), but I may leave that until the biting bugs depart - even sprayed my headphones with repellent today just to get them away from my ears! LOL

Yes, back to the beach again on Saturday morning. :)

Super Nice stone work!! Bet that took some time to put in! Nice lush greenery too. A guy would think he may find some old Samuari weapons of some sort around the castle area!
I always look forward to seeing your finds, keep up the good work!! :detecting:
