I took my Princess out to the Bermuda Airport this morning so she could catch a flight to Montreal, Canada for a business meeting.

Our cottage is on the opposite end of the island so I took along the Excal so I could hunt Clearwater Beach which is located at the end of the runway, thereby killing two birds with one stone.

At 12:30 it was time for the Princess to board her plane so after a bunch of hugging and kissing she headed to the security gates and I headed to Clearwater Beach.
I've never hunted this beach before and was interested in finding out what it was like and it didn't take long to figure it out. TRASH, unbelieveable amounts of trash and most of it aluminium, the soft sand forms a blanket only a few inches thick overtop of a rocky sole, VERY Tough Digging!
Opportunity knocks but you have to open the door, it's said.

I got down to business and soon had 1 quarter in my loot pocket of my hunting jacket and a full trash pocket, only an hour into the hunt. At this point my Princess's plane took off over my head so I stopped to wave her a Bon Voyage; it's a little wierd hunting at the end of a runway.
At 2 hours into the hunt I was getting tired from digging through all of the rocks and I was starting to shiver in my wet suit, as the stiff breeze was stripping away my body heat even though I was hunting hard. I spied a sandy trough between two gravel shoals and thought it might have something to offer and it certainly did, out popped a 10k and blue topaz sparkler with two little diamond chips as bookends for the topaz.

Well the gas was certainly covered now so I decided to wrap it up before I started to get the shakes. I managed another quarter, a key and clip plus a game token from Celebrity Cruise Lines.
By the time I made it back to the jeep the hunt had lasted 2 1/2 hours and I was starting to shake, so I loaded up the gear and put the heater on full blast which took the shakes away, then I pointed the jeep in the direction of the other end of the island and home. I drove past Horseshoe Bay on the way home and it's kicking up pretty good as a front is moving in, it might be worth my while to check it out tomorrow.
