Cleaning Wheaties

I was out today and found a 1909 s penny. I was thinking about taking it to a coin place see if they could clean it ???

99% of any cleaning will degrade a coin's numismatic value. IF it just for show and tell...I use CCC a Copper Coin Cleaner, a product of the Coin Care Corp. it contains phosphoric acid USE WITH CARE or Never-Dull a wadding to clean coins for show and tell.

I am sure you checked for the VBD on the penny...IF it is there DO NOT clean the coin. Treasure it the way it is.

I put this stainless steel shot inside my tumbler with some dish soap, water enough to cover about half full tumbler with steel shot, add penny(s) and tumble for at least an hour. Removes all the dirt and saves the copper. Also works great on gold and silver rings. Gold plated rings can be tumbled also.
