CLEANING ITEMS

I was wondering if anyone knows how to clean the coins I found. I have used a fine toothbrush on them and it helped on some but not the others. I have heard using a electricity to clean them as well as other items. If anyone knows how to make this thing that would be great as well. Thanks and great hunting to you all.

You can build an electrolysis unit to clean them. I've used mine several times and get good results on heavier items. Sometimes very delicate, or heavily corroded items are best left alone. More than one ring has fallen apart after cleaning and sometimes almost all detail of a coin will be lost, if it was even there in the first place.....live and learn. Experiment first with stuff you don't mind being dissolved into a worthless, shapeless blob of nothing. Here's a couple of links for building a unit.
