Cleaning finds

Photoflash

New member
This question has probably been answered many times, but being somewhat of a newbie, I'll ask again.

I have done almost all of my detecting in fresh water lakes and beaches. This past couple of weeks I was doing some detecting in the Atlantic near Haulover Beach in Florida.

My question is "How do I best clean coins, or anything metal, which have encrustation on them?"

Sparse pickings as the surf was really rough, so had to work the beachline.

Thanks for any help on this.
