Hi all,
I have been reading different methods of cleaning coins.Well here's one to ponder. Yesterday i picked up some really brown coins from the beach and in the ocean, when i got home i dropped then in "tomato sauce" to which i added a lttle extra vinegar, this was around 5 p.m. and at around 9 p.m. i took them out gave them a little brush and they were perfect. Today i wanted to prove a point so i put a $2 coin in pure tomato sauce and a 5 cent piece both very brown. This was around 1p.m. and at 5 p.m. i took them out not a trace of brown, they were a bit matt but i will buff them with a silver cloth and they will be fine.I just thought someone may like to try this, feed back would be good too.It was without effort at all.
Regards Maureen..
