can you clean these buttons i do not want to damage them. if you can let me know how thanks. i found this button where i work with my ace 250. i can use all the help i can get:twodetecting: on the back of button it reads scovill mfg co waterbury ct:please:

I agree.. You have to be real careful. Use the wrong method and it can be nearly ruined
as far as collectors are concerned. This applies to real old coins too. The warm water/
brush is probably about all I would do. I would not "zap" it, etc, as that can cause later
changes in the color, etc.. IE: I zapped a bunch of wheats a while back, and most turned
real dark looking after a few months. You can polish them and clean much of it off, but it
seems to return after a while.
