Cleaned found silver and a toasted Camera

From the land of the Bluenose.....what a sight! No not the picture below but the Russian cargo plane which landed at work today. It is suppose to be the second largest plane in the world. Ironically it was loading up snow/runway cleaning machines that were built here in Nova Scotia and destined for an airport in the Ukarine.

Not a bad sight either was some of this years silver which I cleaned using the glass pie plate lined with tin foil with baking soda and water poured over it.

In a real pickle now as the new FE-210 Olympus camera that they gave me to replace the FE-200 .......will not load the software on my windows 98. Called the National Olympus Customer Service center and after one hour and 45 minutes on the phone they told me that they couldn't find a route to get the camera working on the Windows 98. Kicking up a stink and asking for an older camera that "will" download on windows 98.

Which leds to three possibilities;
1. buy new computer
2. buy a new camera
3. trade this new camera with my sister for her old Kodak
Easyshare

Mind you everytime I download the software for the Kodak from the net my email freezes and nothing else. Going to be a long winter!

You will have other problems come up if you don't get another computer.

Does the foil have something to do with the cleaning?

Windows 98? Your old skool Les. Please elaborate on the cleaning method. That's a nice pile of shine.

Les if you go with the new puter make sure they don't sell you Vista the new Microsoft operating system. It is still having many problems stick with XP or XP pro.
I use a Kodak easyshare camera and like it allot i do not have any problems with the easyshare program but it may be a difference in computers.

Vista is working fine with most equipment on the market now, plus up-graded drivers for the older stuff you may want too use. Such as scanners, cams, and what ever.

If your e-mail is locking up on a downloaded software program, or a upgrade from a site, their has too be something set wrong on your older system or it is just not fast enough to handle the newer programs.

I think you need to take a step forward with your computer system .... :thumbup:
