Clean sweep on the silver umax

I'm considering getting a clean sweep coil for my silver umax. Question does it function well without being factory tuned to the detector?

I'm in N.E. Nevada. The soil is extremely mild. I have no problem with the Cleansweep on the Silver U. Quarters are about 6". Where they loose depth is in mineralized soil because the coil "sees" more earth and feeds that info to the detector. In essence, masking then occurs. You never stated where you live and the soil conditions. Call Tesoro directly for an opinion too.

mine works GREAT,, you'll love it !!!!!!!!

You may have to just try it out! The downside is that youll lose the ability to swap coils back and forth once you have to have it tuned to a specific coil.
I asked the same question with my golden as it has a fixed ground balance as the Silver does. I was told that there's a strong chance it will operate just fine ,especially in mild ground, without chirping and falsing.
Your depth will be somewhat less due to the physics (fixed amount of energy spread over greater area or something like that) but you'll have a blast.
I just got my CS and am hoping my mild ground does me right too!
If it doesn't work out youll just have to buy an Outlaw or a Cortes for that cleansweep...LOL
