Clean Sweep And The Silver U Question

Would it be right to say 3-4 inches in depth max. Not on sand, but ground.

There's a field test on Lost Treasure magazine-5-6", with more depth in a/m mode. Some deep finds were found by hunting in a/m mode and rechecking in disc mode.

Thank you. Right now it is 3 above and about time to hit the beach after a long winter and goodies should be ready to pick after many storms and high waves.

"I felt like I needed to post this for people that have never used the CleanSweep coil. People that have used it please chime in. I have had the CleanSweep coil since right after it came out. It has become my most used, and most lucrative coil. It is the easiest coil to pinpoint with, about the same as the 4" coil, but covers HUGE ground. The depth is uniform from heel to toe and will hit a dime at 6". It feels weird for me to use a round coil now, and only do so when depth is important. The ground around my area is pretty hard and I like popping out more targets as opposed to deeper targets. I use almost every every size coil made for my detectors, but if I could only keep one coil this would be it. Even works good in trashy areas once you get the hang of it. I recommend anyone with a Tesoro try one. If you don't like it the resale is high. But there is a reason they are hard to find used. No one can part with it once they try it!"

I got a like new cleansweep coil with coil cover for the umax detectors that I'm not using & was thinking of posting it for sale.--What should I ask for it"----------Thanks, Del

I think you could sell it instantly for $100. Probably more if you go the auction route. If you figure out a price for your CSC let me know. I know a couple people looking...

OK, I'll probably list it sometime in the first week of April when I get back home to OR---I'm in NV right now.----I'll try to post a couple of pictures of it also.---------Del

I use the cleansweep with the Cibola. This is my primary detector combination. Doesn't miss much. Would say the deepest depth is 4 to 6 inches depending on what target is. Quarters, naturally get a little more depth than dimes. But, coins are not what I look for. I primarily hunt for the jewelry, and coins are a by-product of my hunts.

So it works great on jewelry?

Best jewelry machine that I have in my arsenal. Second best is the Whites DFX. Only use it if it is really trashy, and can cherry pick with the 4x6 coil. However, the cleansweep is the best coil for quickly clearing a soccer field or larger park area if you are jewelry hunting. Sure, you will dig lots of trash, but that's the payment that must be rendered to get the gold. No different than beach hunting, most dedicated beach hunters use P.I. machines and dig all signals. With a Tesoro, I disc just above iron, and dig everything else, even iffy signals. The rewards are worth it for me.
