Classics vs the New

Okay I'm sure this isn't the first time this question has been asked but to avoid lengthy internet searches here goes. How are the new fisher detectors compared to the classics. Are they noisy/chatty, how is the durability compared to the classics, depth etc? Are they still using circuitry similar to the classics? I would like answers from owners of both classic Fisher machines as well as the new line so as to get accurate evaluations. Thanks in advance.

This is kind of the way I feel about my 3 machines, 2 Fisher Classics and one newer Fisher.

Depth, I can

Hey Ron how are ya, every 1270 i owned was a real fisher and i never had one prob with mine and the new ones from first texas from several people i've read about almost imediatly had to be sent back i just think the los Banos when it comes to the 1200 series were a better built machine and the CZ's too, just my opinion thats all

I have had 1236X2 and 1270 both were used but taken care of loved em over new fishers.I had F2 ,and F5 twice both good detectors. But spent to much time looking at TID screen etc.went to beep and dig and finds went up and found jewelry with beep in dig.Never found the jewelry with new Fishers and I have been ove the spots before. But listening to the older Fishers i found same jewelry that I missed with the TID newer fishers. I feel that I spent to much time believing what screen was telling me....NOW I listen to what I'm hearing and if its sounds good or has a possible sound I dig .I trust beep and dig more than a TID Fisher...and to me the newer Fishers were more annoying to listen to.

Yea i started out with a beep n dig machine. I think it was good to start with that because it taught me to listen instead of rely on the TID. I use the CZ70 Pro now and hardly ever look at the meter. anything above iron with a steady tone gets dug. Thats why i like the 1270 so much because you don't fool yourself into missing targets. You'd probably find more if you put duct tape over the TID lol!

I've been using Fisher detectors for 35 years and learned to listen to the tones high, med, low. As far as I can see the tid meter is a wast of time. Sounds and tones tell you whats in the ground.Squeaky sounds are tin foil most of the time. But let me say most hunting is done on the beaches fresh and salt. Any solid sound gets dug. still have my fisher cz6a, cz3, cz70 and use the f5 and f75 for inland hunting. Thin silver and gold chains give off a squeaky sounds at mid to high tones. when in doubt DIG
