Classic III nailed my first ever merc

I am sure it has happened to most of you before, but never to me. I had a quick 30 minutes to hunt today. I zipped over to the ballfield that I found a silver rosie at last year. Went over to the old 3rd base area and the first solid signal gave me a 1926 merc about 6 inches down My very first merc ever! Hard to top that, but a few minutes later I dug a 1919 wheatie. I decided that my goal was hit for the day. Still plan on making this spot my go to spot for the year.

Way to go. I just got a Classic III Sl from Mr. Bill with his mods but haven't got out to use it yet. I may be selling it though since i bought it and an Eagle Spectrum at the same time and like the Eagle a lot.

I was very pleased because I entered the field with the intent on cherry picking it first since I was pressed for time. I had the disc cranked up all the way. Still nailed it at 6"!

I am guessing it is fairly mild soil.

Bucksport,
You forgot to mention where this field is?.......Griley :)
Congrats on the good finds.
 I would tell you if you lived anywhere near me. I would love to have someone to hunt with. I am the only person in my town that detects at all.

My town is my handle on here :) no big secret. Open invitation to anyone who comes to visit Maine.
There are other detectorists within 20 miles in all directions, but they never hit my area :)

Griley, forgot to say welcome :)
