classic II/ ID VS tesoro silver umax

Eric

New member
I have been reading some post that somebody mentioned that the silver umax is deeper than the classic ID. Is this true? Is the tesoro also more sensitive to small silver coins?

I had luck with a sidewinder before but never really compared it with the classic series.

thanks, Eric.

i have a similiar question. my first detector was a prizm IV, w/the 950 coil (i purchased w/it). i recently won a tesoro silver umax. with the above response of the classic vs. the umax, and assuming the prizm isn't as good as the classic. therefore, is my umax a better detector than the prizm?

I'm starting to believe in the Classic III sl and IDX Pro machines.

I like my Classic II SL...I modified it to bring the Threshold and Ground Balance adjustments to the outside of the case, and since I can now precision balance it to my conditions, she hits on coins like a Hound on a Coon....I am finding more silver than ever before...even this 925 LC little ear ring and 1900 Barber Dime...

Weeks ago I found out how much enjoyment my classic II gave me over my high end machines. It was just the simplicity what I liked and it gave me more finds, than the expensive I have in that particular forrest with a lot of history.

On farmfields, the xl pro is tops, but also the minelab x terra 30 with DD coil. Also the tesoro's are very good.[Compass as well!!] The farmfields I hunt on, are in use since Roman times. Needless to say that there is a lot, and I mean a lot of old iron trash in the soil. A NO GO place for most fishers.

Thanks, Eric.

[size=large]markg,

Note that I stated they have benefits over the Classic II, which was a model in Eric's original question. I never said they were "especially" better than the Tej

[size=large]I can see why you enjoy the performance of the Classic series over some others. They do handle iron trash quite well.

I have not dug a spot of iron with my modified Classic II SL...If I get a hard hit, and my target is not found by the time I dig 4 inches, I quit digging and know it is a large piece of iron buried deep...
