Classic IDX SL vs. IDX Pro

I was wondering if anyone knew if there is a difference between the classic IDX SL and the IDX Pro. To me they look identical aside from the word PRO. Also on White's sight, I can download the manual for the classic IDX SL, but can't find the PRO listed. Thanks.

They stated there was a minor, and I mean rather minor enhancement in the top-end of the Sensitivity of the IDX Pro. I've owned several of each version and I could note very little difference, and often none. Compared side-by-side, too.

The differences I appreciated where the change in the decal under the display and the coil decal. The Classic IDX SL had the very shiny, silvery decal that permitted a LOT of sun glare. The IDX Pro had the subdued, matte-finish type decal that was far more pleasing to the eye.

Manuals are the same. Performance is the same. The IDX Pro (or IDX) are top performers with a very quick response and fast recovery, excellent depth of detection, and they share all the BlueMax series of coils for the Classic III Plus, Classic III SL, Classic ID, XL Pro, XLT, and similar 6.59 kHz models.

With one exception I mainly used versions that had Bill Crabtree's modifications done which let me get top performance out of them in any ground mineral environment, and also made it possible to use the Frequency Shift when hunting close to friends. Using the Frequency Shift can easily shift the Ground Balance enough that you can experience falsing (a too negative GB condition), but with manual GB it is very easy to quickly re-adjust.

Both are basically the same. Both will serve you well. But I prefer the non-glaring decals.
