Classic IDX mods

I recently purchased a stock, classic sl idx. Does anyone know where I could get the Mr. Bill type mods done to it? I really miss not having a manual ground balance, and the depth I'm getting is not that great. Any help would be much appreciated.

I think Mr. Bill retired and don,t do them any more. If you can find someone that knows how, I bet alot of people would like to know. Good Luck Flintstone

Mr. Bill retired, he was kind enough and posted how to do it on the Geotech forum. I do not know of anybody doing the Mod at this time.

How good is your ground balance set now? Is it positive or negative when checked in all-metal mode? It should be set where the threshold audio is slightly positive as coil is getting close to the ground on the downward stroke on a clean metal free piece of ground. In the manual is a 'how to' on ground balancing the Classic IDX, there is a small adjustment pot/trimmer under the made in America decal, easily adjusted with a small screwdriver. The ground balance of the IDX is very forgiving and usually can handle most ground without further adjustment. HH
