Classic ID in the bean fields

Hit the bean fields in Deep Creek section of Chesapeake. Little muddy, but a great day to hunt. Found four IH Pennies a 1988, 1891, 1895 and 1897. Found a dog collar with tags. I am going to take them to the owner of SASHA tomorrow. Found a piece of jewelry with silver inlay. Also a 1918 and 1919 Wheat penny. The Classic is as good as any other detector for relic hunting in the field. Two weeks ago I found a ladies Elgin 1911 Pocket watch and a 1898 Large cent in Deep Creek. The watch was GOLD. It was trashed, but got $50 for the scrap gold. Not a bad day!!

Wow, Great day of hunting!! Nice condition Indians! I will try and go out detecting on Sunday myself, since we are supposed to hit 60 degrees. Should melt some of that 14+ inches we got last week LOL. You did good in that field. HH

Congrats on the gold! Love that thick green on the Indians too!! (Working on a set of those.) You've gotta be lovin' that bean field!!!!

I have Mr. Bill doing the mod on my Classic IDX, so I will have adjustable ground balance. The ID has to have the sticker removed to gain access to the pot for adjusting the ground balance.

Just curious, what kind of place used to exist on that bean field ? Did it have a farm house there at one time, or perhaps an old church sight? Any way it looks like there was some activity there a long time ago, thanks for sharing.................Hombre

There were farm houses and buildings, but the only sign now are the broken shards of glass and pottery. The farmland was bought by the current owners/relatives in 1929. It was part of the great dismal swamp origionally. Eventually the entire tract will be called Cullpepper Landing after the original owners of the property.

Way to go man that is some great finds. I am still looking for my first indian I know it will happen some day . Thanks for sharing.
