My Compadre came through with a wonderful find and a happy ending.

This is a picture of a High School Class Ring I found on the College Station Texas A&M campus last night. I was able to find the rightful owner by using Face book and I returned the ring to him tonight at a local College Station grocery store. He thanked me and told me he never expected to see the ring after he lost it 2 years ago. Its at least my 3rd Class Ring I have been able to return to the rightful owner. I had previously turned in one class ring to a school, but I never found out if that ring made it back to who owned it. I will never do that again because I want to make sure I know the person who lost their ring is able to receive it for sure again.

Even though the ring had been lost for 2 years, it was only about 3" deep when I found it. I was able to retrieve it using a flashlight, a probe, and my Garrett pin-pointer.

Good one David53 Nothing better than to see some one getting their ring back and the emotions they have. Been detecting 45 yrs and found a lot of rings for folks and thats what makes a good day for all of us. shortribs

Nice one

Your absolutely right. I really enjoyed giving the ring back and viewing the excited look on Codie's face.
The first return I had was more dramatic because the rightful owner was a Marine. He tried to give me a reward, but I refused to take any money from him since he chose to defend our country by being in the military. I told him he was helping to provide me the freedom to enjoy my hobby. He then told me had received money from insurance for the ring. I told him to keep his insurance money, keep the reward, enjoy his ring, and I wished him to have a good life. I thanked him again for defending our country. He tried 4 different times to give me a reward.
I don't mind taking a reward from someone who is in a field other than the military, police, fire fighter, or clergy.
I can't wait to find the next one.
