Class Ring Update !!!!!!

Indiana-FH

New member
Can't Tell you how excited I am about this Post. about 3 weeks ago I posted some pics and a note concerning a recent finds
that included a class ring for a girl who may have graduated in 1983.. And with all the snow and ice here in Indiana was able to
do the research to try and find the owner. since I found this ring in Alabama and I'm in Indiana made the research even more of
a task.

Here's the story, this evening we talked to the Father of the young girl who owned the ring. To our dismay we found out this
lady had passed away a few years ago of Cancer. We even talked to the Sister of this lady and and she described the ring to a
Tee and also the approx location where it was lost. So we are very confident we have the right family.

We call the father back who is so excited to be able to give this ring to his granddaughter. I offered to mail it to him tomorrow
or meet up with him when we go back to Alabama in two weeks. He asked us to meet up with him in Birmingham when we get
there...

So this has really been a good experience and can't wait to hand this ring to her Father so he can give it to her daughter

Incredible!! Indiana-FH, thank you for taking the time to follow through and find the family after nearly 25 years. We can only imagine how grateful the family is and how meaningful it is for the woman's daughter to receive her mother's ring. This is a great story, you are to be commended for your honesty, time and effort to located the girl's family. You did Good!!

P.S. Please let us know about your experience in meeting the girl's father and giving him the ring.

What a wonderful thing to do, you are a great ambassador for the hobby, and a great human being. Thanks for sharing your story, there's an old proverb that goes like this, " As a man sows, so shall he reap", you have sown treasure into the life of this family, may it return to you in abundance! HH regards Nugget.

Fantastic! This would be an great story for their local paper to print. It is a great one to share with everyone.

Congratulations on a great job!

I was thinking the same thing...there's got to be a way for the local newspaper to pick up the story and report it. Stories like this are too few and far apart. I know Indiana-FH was rewarded far beyond the thrill of finding the ring and certainly didn't do it for the attention...but people need to hear about it. It's just too good to keep quiet.

Great job on locating the family of the owner...I am sorry to hear that the owner is no longer able to receive the ring herself, but I am sure her daughter will cherish it forever...You did a great deed and you will surly be rewarded for this...It would make me so happy to do what you have done...
