CLARIFICATION ON THE SHIPMENT DATE

Nokta Detectors

Active member
Hello all...

As I am getting emails regarding the Impact shipment, I wanted to clarify a few points:

Most shipments to USA are sent with ''air freight'' meaning I can only provide you with the date that the goods leave the factory and when they will land in the USA. I wrote on forums that they would land in the USA on Sunday and they did.

Once they are in the USA I cannot know how long it will take for the customs clearance procedure followed by the inbound transport will take as these are not controlled by us but rather by the importer and the freight forwarder.

I checked with the freight forwarder on our end though and they said the estimated delivery is Thursday.

The second shipment was sent by DHL express which is easy to track online and it is scheduled to be DELIVERED on Friday.

Hope this helps…

Thanks for the info. Your keeping us up to date will go a long way with building customer loyalty. Actually, I did not even know or follow anything about your company until now. So, the Impact might have a great "impact" on future sales with me and many others.

Just want to say that how Nokta has handled this release is most commendable and I'll be buying one very soon particularly do to this and the results the testers have given us.

Haha very true.
You never see such transparency bundled with presence in a forum like this to answer questions with any other company I've seen.

I see an impact in my future but for now my relic and racer 2 are treating me well :)

I just saw on another forum that they have arrived at KellyCo, so hopefully we will have them soon.

I ordered mine from metaldetectors.com, does that mean that I now have to wait for Kellyco to ship them to metaldetectors.com, who will in turn then ship it to me?

Thanks.....

Sit back and relax, another week won't kill ya. The stuff in the ground will still be there for you to find.
I am sure its worth the wait.......................................

All true, BUT I'm getting ready to go on a ghost town trip towards the end of the month and would like to get some time on it before going so I have some idea of what the hell I'm doing.....nothing like going to a site you can only hit once a year and not known how to operate your machine :punch:

I guess if nothing, I can put it in 3-tone mode and it'll be like my Racer2, but with the ability to select different frequencies :smoke:

Cal, are you by chance headed to Wells for the WTHO with Monte's group? I'm kinda chompin'-at-the-bit as well, I am hoping to be able to use mine on that trip.

I wish I was able too, but no such luck!this time. I'm Heading to a remote mountain site, can't wait. Last hunt there I dug a seated half dollar, gotta be more :)

1st.. I sure wish I could join you on your trip to your 'once-a-year' ghost town.

2nd.. I sure wish you were also able to join me and the others who will make the 5th & 6th WTHO's in May (out of Wells, Nevada) and in June (out of Vale, Oregon) this year. I still hope someone will come up with a good suggestions for a 3rd outing later in the year. Remember, we did have a Seated Liberty 50¢ piece come out of one of the towns we'll be hunting on our 2nd WTHO, plus all the other coins found on each outing. That means there's always the potential for any participant to 'get lucky.'

3rd.. I am sure you will enjoy your outing, and while learning the Impact you'll be enjoying some success on your trip.

I put in more time Relic Hunting old-use, out-of-the-way places than I do Coin Hunting the typical urban parks, schools, parking easements and such. That stated, I do still devote some city-time to Coin Hunting and the Makro Racer 2 had been the unit I assigned for a lot of the 'city hunting' because that when I might use more of the in-your face display for TID and other information. The Racer 2 is a very good example of a versatile detector for Coin Hunting, and you personally know it can do equal service when Relic Hunting.

I have enjoyed using my Nokta FORS CoRe and FORS Relic models the most over the past 27+ months because I enjoy their excellent balance, especially when using the mid-size coils, a 5½X10 Concentric (on one of my Relic units) and Double-D (on my CoRe). And definitely more forgiving on my bad back and neck when working any larger-size search coil in more open, sparse-target sites such as the standard 7X11 DD.

That said, while enjoying my CoRe and Relic most often, I've made a change in my Regular-Use Detector Team that travels with me replacing the Racer 2 with the new Impact. The Impact felt better when first testing it along with my Racer 2, providing me a better balance and feel with their standard 7X11 DD coils. I look forward to getting the 5X9 open-frame DD as I think it might also balance well for a mid-sized coil. I use smaller-size coil most often due to dense debris and like the 'OOR' and 5½" round DD coils on all my Racer and FORS series models, and also find the Impact very comfortable with smaller coils, and the 4X7¾ DD has been working very well, and with a nice balance and feel, especially when Coin & Jewelry Hunting.

Since the Impact has the display facing the operator with easily viewed information, all simply adjusted as desired with the operating hand's thumb, the Impact quickly took the place of my Racer 2 in my Regular-Use group, especially as my preferred Coin & Jewelry Hunting detector. Since it is designed to turn start up in 14 kHz frequency, like the Racer 2, and since I use smaller coils the most and opt for the Di3 3-Tone mode with the Racer 2, CoRe and Relic with their smaller coils, I have saved the settings I want in Di3 so, at turn-on (with this Impact unit), I have a favorite smaller coil mounted and am ready-to-go for trashier sites, just as I was with the Makro Racer 2.

I am sure you can quickly set your Impact up with the Racer 2 settings you currently use and just start from their to learn the Impact and tweak little changes as you see fit ... if you see fit.

Like with the Racer 2 you can save all of the settings you like to start with for each mode, just this time it will be for12 search modes. Once I start up I press the Expert button, then the Up arrow button to access the Frequency, then pull-the-trigger and start hunting. If I want to make a quick Frequency change it is ready-to-access by just pressing the Expert button and either the left or right arrow button to shift up or down to the Frequency I want.

Other adjustments, either in Settings or Expert features, are also quick to access on-the-fly, and they don't time-out like on the Racer series and have to be scrolled to from the start. Example, you can access the Settings and scroll to Disc. and make an adjustment and start hunting. A while later you might want to change the Disc. setting and all you have to do is press the Settings button and you're still at the Disc. function where you last adjusted. I like that since that's how the FORS CoRe and FORS Relic are designed.

Trust me, I think the Racer 2 will become your 'back-up' to the Impact. I've been so impressed with the Impact that I plan to get a 2nd Impact after production runs are out just to keep the two of them at-the-ready just like I do with my two FORS CoRe units (with an 'OOR' DD on one and 5½X10 DD on another) as well as my two FORS Relic models (one with the round 5½" DD and the other sporting the 5½C10 Concentric). I'll keep a favored small coil on one Impact and mount the standard 7X11 DD in the other.

I look forward to reading your reports of how the Impact performs for you as well as your results on your ghost town outing.

As I have stated in this and other Forum posts, I really like the Racer 2 and it's versatile performance abilities, just as I do the original Racer, and Nokta's FORS CoRe and Relic models. For me and my wants and needs, I personally favor the Nokta FORS CoRe and FORS Relic units over the original Racer or Racer 2. Part of my needs are to have the most comfort for my back and mobility issues and pain, but also to have my wants satisfied with excellent in-the-field results.

The Racer series can do it, I just happen to favor the two Nokta models. Some detector users might find the Racer 2 physical design to be more appealing to them that are the CoRe and Relic, and that's fine. All are exceptional detectors, so pick what you like as they all work well and very close in result's.

I wrapped up my rely to Cal_Cobra with this: "Trust me, I think the Racer 2 will become your 'back-up' to the Impact."

Note that I was just sharing my thoughts or opinions of what Cal_Cobra might find appealing to him about the Impact such that he might prefer to make it his main-use model. The hint here for readers is that I wouldn't suggest the Impact be considered a unit to replace his Racer 2, just another multi-purpose detector that anyone might consider to add to their detector arsenal.

Monte thanks for your reply, and your tips on the Impact. I have a high hopes for the Impact, and from what I've gathered from you that have been putting them to the test and sharing your thoughts, I do believe it's going to be a great machine. I don't do much park hunting anymore these days (there was a time that I lived in parks), as I simply don't get excited digging silver rosies and clad, once you dig seateds and reales, it's hard to go back :detecting:

I have one site in particular that gives my Racer2 fits, it's an alkali desert type of environment, and I guess the only way to describe how the Racer2 (and my F75 LTD2) acts there, is it's like taking your average VLF machine to detect wet salt water sand, unless it's a large target, depth is dramatically reduced, lots of falsing, TIDs are all over the map, you really have to throw everything you have at it to make a go of it. Minelabs FBS machines do fine there, as they are well equipped to handle such mineralized soil conditions.

I'm hoping that the Impact, running the new 4X7¾ DD coil will be able to break through there with the right combination of frequency settings and mode settings. BTW that 4X7¾ DD really reminds me of the NEL 3.5" x 6.5" DD Snake Coil, which I've been running on my Racer2, and have found it to be a great coil. Slightly larger then the OOR coil, so you get a bit better coverage and it separates with the best of the best. I suspect it'll be a very nice coil for our relic sites when the 10" DD is a bit too much coil,, but you'd like something a bit larger than the OOR.

Monte we'll definitely hunt again one of these days. I hope to make one of this years WTHO, and I'd be happy to see you come to one of our ghost town trips. The annual Memorial Day weekend Tonopah trip is fast approaching, but I know that's a long trek from where you home.

HH,
Cal
