Stopped by a place on the way home from work that dates back to the 1930's and searched the area both in and out of the woods for a couple of hours. I got a nice mixture of both old and new finds. My GTI 2500 found a nice batch of pennies and some nice one and two dollar coins.

Here is another silver coin, a 1953 dime. Also found in the area was a religious medallion with (from left to right) "SACRED HEART" on one side, and "HOLY CHILDHOOD" on the other. Religious medallions are one of my favorite finds.

Here's my favorite find of the year. A Cameo Broach. A Cameo is a carved gem or shell in which the outer layers are cut away so that the design stands out in relief against a background of a different color. If this is a vintage cameo, it could fetch up to around $500.00, according to some found on the Internet. This is my second cameo found. My other one was a smaller, newer version. This one is a prize because of it's size and age. It sure made me do a dance!

The Garrett gals were pretty excited too! They are glad to be back in Edmonton ;)

Great haul John,
That cameo brooch certainly has an olde world look and style to it.
You could well be spot on with that one. That was a nice wee bonus.
