clad , watch, 925 ring

Spent a few hours in 2 different parks this morning.. got between 5 and 6 dollars in clad... found a ladies watch which is still keeping time..watch isnt anything special as its sold at kohls for 30 bucks... i almost gave up on the silver ring as i was retrieving targets with a screwdriver but just couldn't seem to hit the target..i walked away for a second but couldnt shake the idea that it might be a silver ring as the signal was tight and read between dime and quarter on my meter..re pinpointed ,ring was about 4 or 5 inches deep...[attachment 315812 20150705_0953201.jpg][attachment 315813 20150705_0955361.jpg][attachment 315814 20150705_0954221.jpg]

A Ring, A Watch and Gas money. Sounds like you had a good coil swing.

maybe a deeper message conveyed: time is money lol? In any case you had a very good hunt. I really need to learn the screwdriver method for parks. Curious BH, how long (on average) does it take for you to locate the object with a screwdriver?

Thanks george and elp... as for making contact with the screwdriver it really varies. ... some times i hit the coin on 1st stab....usually within 1st ten pokes i will make contact ,at that point its kind of like braille as you tap the srewdriver onto the target you get a mental picture in your mind as to which way target is laying ...when i suspect target is can slaw i just poke the srewdriver right thru it and leave it with out having to retrieve it.... for park hunting i use my trusty old whites 5900 with the 5.3 in coil...its really quite acurate at pinpointing provided there isnt other targets within the target area... two of the targets today were coin spills one was 92 cents the other was 48 cents.... the watch was right under the surface and sounded more like a bottle cap than anything but i was running in cherry picking mode so i chased it... stab and grab is a great way to go but you run the risk of scratching your finds and this park isnt too far from the river so there are a few rocks in the mix which can really make finding the target difficult and sometimes impossible with the screwdriver. .... happy huntin...

Nice Indeed! :clapping: Great stabbin there!

Funny how you mentioned standing up and nearly walking away! Thats ring stabbin for sure!:lmfao: Good news though, After a while, a guy starts to trust the signals and stabbability and knows its a ring when its not an easy coin stab...
Mud

Here's a suggestion: I use an ice pick to first locate the target and then a screwdriver. I know, 2 tools,But the ice pick goes in to 4or 5 inches sooooo much easier and loosens the path for the screwdriver.

Thank BH. Ten stabs? I may just make the ground bleed by the time I am done stabbing lol I will have to try the method for clab stabbin'. How Mud stabs so accurately and quickly is unfathomable. I wouldn't want to come up against the Mudster in a dual :starwars: with screwdrivers. I believe I would end up being turned into a human pin cushion.

on a serious note,

I could see how using a small coil would make this task a little easier. Then once I was proficient in the operation I could graduate to using a larger coil. I can also see how rocks mixed in would certainly cause problems too. I sometimes have difficulty with my lesche never mind a screwdriver.

Good job on the coin spill recovery. Me,.... I would most likely loose my mind with multiple coins and a screwdriver.
