Clad dime pocket spill recovered during my lunchtime park hunt

I recovered a nice pocket spill this afternoon at the park down the road from my job... Unfortunately it was all clad but it was about eighteen dimes and so it was one of the biggest spills I have ever found. The dimes were scattered around about a foot area where the parks department had recently removed some brush.

Bank robbery stash? No, seriously, that's a big dime spill. I wonder what the history is.

All dimes? somebody drop a roll of dimes?

Yes, just dimes, nothing else. I am curious how they ended up there like that and a couple were stacked on top of each other so I doubt they were just dropped from any pocket height.... A couple of years ago I found over a hundred pennies in my backyard in a couple square feet area, I am glad I detected there when I did since it is now covered under a couple feet of leaves from the fall.

too bad finds can't tell us the story,,,, congrats !!! Could have just as easiliy been all Mercs,,,,

Probably one of your detector buddies getting rid of his zinc pennies. I have a friend that I complain to that there are no coins in my yard to find. He said he is going to bring over about 4 lb. of zinc pennies he has found and dump them in my yard. :yikes:

Could be a prize from an Easter Egg Hunt. I found 29 quarters in a 4 ft. circle once. That was the only logical explanation I could figure. Grandpa set them there for the kids to find and the kids didn't find them. The mower did, cause 11 of them were bent.
