I try to read this forum everyday and see a lot of folks saying"I don't want to dig clad, only the good stuff".What do you consider "good stuff",silver coins, gold rings, etc.I use the EX1 and am happy to dig what ever coins come under the coil.I also dig alot of ,thought to be coins, that turned out to be a ring or pendent or token.I'll take all the clads that I come to.Not only do they give me practice but at the end of the season they can buy a special something, like a $20.00 gold peice.Next on the list is the one ounce Gold Panda before we go to war with the Chinese.Happy hunting and I'll take all the clads you don't want. Bob

say about clad. But, I must say, the XS is so good at finding coins, that I find myself, especially after a long day, not digging those items registering as a penny and only a few inches deep. I rather leave them to others who have the other machines (I won't say which)! After all, they need a thrill too! The only time I will dig these shallow items is if I have not found anything for quite a while, and I am really hard-up to find SOMETHING! It doesn't happen too often, but everybody has those days!! i agree. the only coins i will pass up are shallow zincs. they're usually so corroded they're worthless and not worth tearing up the grass. i bought my $10.00 gold eagle (gotta get one somehow!)with saved clad. hh.
