Clad, clad, nothing but clad!

I live in the Ft. Worth, Texas area, use the ATP, and have pulled a LOT of clad (and trash) but no silver at all. I've been in all the old parks and always find clad but never silver or rings. I have found that almost all parks are either new or being renovated, the athletic fields are fenced/locked/posted, and same for most schools.

I think I'm missing something. Where are all OLD coins?

Have you looked at any old maps and tried to find some old home sites or older parks ? I bet you can find some online of your area.

If old parks are getting renovated..... start searching where the top soil has been removed. Search old houses, street grassy areas. The silver is out there. Keep searching!

Being a Claddest I don't go out and target old coins. But during the course of a year, I blunder into 2-4 silver coins, maybe 7-10 Silver rings. There is a thrill to finding a silver coin. But a dug silver dime, worth maybe a buck, give or take. That's 4 clad quarter's. On the other hand, your Pro is waterproof, and dang good in the water. (Fresh) You might want to try wading for the treasure your looking for.

Dancer - I have not ever heard the term Claddest but I am in the same class as you just happening on to a few silver - old coppers - some jewelry & odd finds per year while out clad fishing. Fort Worth has some history & bandroadman do a little reasearch and get some permissions & you will find areas that will have what you are looking for. Wishing you all many great finds while out dirt fishing.

Ok first dont hunt with your buddy who has a Etrac and has hunted the field several times before you get there lol.

If your digging clad you are in the right spot. Most silver I find is within 4 inches of the surface. But I usually just find clad, as was said before I can find a lot of clad quicker than a silver. If I just cherry picked and dug deep targets I am sure I would find the older coins, but after about a dozen holes pulling vintage pull tabs and rusted bottle caps I say to heck with it.

Try looking under benches and entrances for new drops. Dont hunt the obvious areas all the time. Good Luck.
