Interesting find! Tell me, what would a token like this be used for? Also, I take it you do your hunting in sites that have some connection to the CW. How fortunate.

SOME WERE USED
as money and were privately minted. during the war between the states money was hard to get.
this one was known as a PATRIOTIC TOKEN just think wen your in a WAR ZONE your not getting money
but it only lasted a short time 1-2 years i may have other ones that i will post.

Will be hitting the water for the first time in a looooong this week. The site was a old fort location that is now underwater. Has produced in the past but the tides are high now....just have to cure that itch though!!! LOL
