Civil War Relic Photo

Gerry in Idaho

New member
I am trying to ID an item I dug last week at a TN Civil War camp site.

Item is just larger than a dime and about 1/2 inch thick. Probably made of brass or copper and has some type of grooves/gear notches in it and an iron pin going through the bottom. I have seen this same exact item in another C.W. artifacts photo but it did not identify this particular item.

I would like to know what it is and what it was used for.

Thanks, Gerry in Idaho.
