Found this pencil had know idea what it was till I cleaned it up and pulled the pencil part out of the metal,have got to get a tripod hope its not to blurry.
 
Nice. Hey bunn, not to offend you at all, glad you're having fun with your new camera. Read the manual on white balance. This is a critical setting and needs to be changed for different lighting situations. Sometimes Auto White Balance works okay but not always. Play around with it some and see how different settings affect the photo. Most of your photos appear too warm. Experiment with some different settings and note the differences. Took me awhile to learn. BTW, you're right about a tripod. Makes all the difference, especially at slower shutter speeds. You're doing fine, keep at it. After playing around with the various White Balance settings on your camera, try doing a manual white balance with a grey card. Best color of all. Good luck.

Bunn, try taking a photo of a blank white paper. You can then make your adjustments until you get a clean white photo. It just makes it a bit easier to get the white adjusted correctly without all the other colours in the way. Hope this helps.
