Civil War PA Reserve Brigade Buckle

Mac _ Park

New member
Hey All, Here is another buckle I have. This was in my fathers collection. I would like to try to authenticate the buckle. I found it to be called a PA Reserve Brigade buckle. It is very heavy. Just under the "B" are the very small engraved initials "RK", don't know if this was a soldier from the unit. Can anyone inform me on this buckle. Thanks Jerry

Your plate has the PA seal; with RB representing "Reserve Brigade." Although similar, its construction is not of the Civil War era. I would say it is a later if not 20th century reproduction. Original PA plates were of stamped brass, lead filled design; with arrow hooks. I do not believe there are any known dug examples of the originals. Good hunting, David@Dixie
