Civil War Memorial

When visiting various old New England Cemeteries, I always go hunting for their Civil War Memorial... It is amazing how many different poses are cast of these brave souls. As usual there are always Cannon near the castings. Usually the cannon are quite large, and made of Cast Iron. In this case there are 4 Bronze Cannon, at each corner of the Memorial lot. All are stamped 1862, J R A + CO T F. A real shame they are not mounted, and too have their barrels planted in the turf!

Is this located in Boston? You are posting some sharp photos from that camera that you are using, good coloring too! Thanks for sharing. Kelley (Texas) :)

Salem Mass. 30 miles north of Beantown. I would say they are Civil War, due to the date stamped into them,1862.
The camera works pretty well, and remember, I had to downsize the pixels! Thanks Fred, enjoy!

Nice pics, maybe the canon were buried with their muzzels down to signify the end of hostilities.......nge
