CIVIL WAR ITEM ?

I dug this item in a bean field last sunday where an old homesite once stood. It looks to be a military pin of some sorts.
The pin is slightly curved like it might have partially wrapped around something, and it has two pointed pins on the back with the points bent slightly down.
I have soaked it in olive oil to clean it up and can't make out anything on the front for certain yet, but it looks like it may have some numbers on it.
No markings on the back that I can find and the base metal is a silver color. Any ideas what it is and could it be CW era ? Thanks............Roger
Sorry the pic quality sucks.....

I doubt it, but look at it close. Some numbers can be a clue, soldiers did make custom hat pins and uniform pins sometimes.

After soaking the pin in olive oil for several days some faint details are visible.
I can see 13 Co on the pin although it is very faint. It doesn't appear to be hand made by a soldier.
From my research there was an Illinois 13 Co. in the civil war. I have the persons name that was living on the site it was found on
and I'm hoping to find his name on the list of soldiers in the 13 Co. roster.

Now you might be on to something really special ! Good luck. CCH

Update.....after some more cleaning I can see I was wrong on the company......it is a 73 co. Illinois infantry pin not a 13 co. pin.
