Civil War Button

That is a nice enlisted General Services, looks like maybe a cuff button, depending on size, the markings on the back would date it. It could be Civil War through the Indian Wars period. Is that a sandstone coaster in the background........:biggrin:

I just noticed you have two stars after Co. and that puts it 1870 to 1900.

Congrats on the button. Those are always nice to find. HH, Nancy

Way to go button boy!!!!:rofl: Thanks for leaving the coins in the ground. No seriously, nice button. Have a great Thanksgiving!!!!

Button Boy.......:cheers: Good one Nathan...:clapping:

To be particular, your button reads:

* WATERBURY BUTTON CO. *

Dates at 1860 to Post War.

Albert book lists it as a Enlisted Men, General Service Button #94a-5. Tice Book shows the back marks and dating.

I will bring my Albert and my Tice Button Books to the meeting.

Yep, one star after Co. on the backmark, puts it right in the Civil War period. :thumbup: Two stars will be post CW.

It's so awesome to have access to a few good button books and it's even better when one of our members share the information... Thanks Steve! :thumbup: HH, Nancy
