Civil War Button

Put the small coil on the ctx and came up with another military button last night.

That is a nice enlisted General Services, looks like maybe a cuff button, depending on size, the markings on the back would date it. It could be Civil War through the Indian Wars period. Is that a sandstone coaster in the background........

Back says Waterbury Button Co. **

I just noticed you have two stars after Co. and that puts it 1870 to 1900.

To be particular, your button reads:

Dates at 1860 to Post War.

Albert book lists it as a Enlisted Men, General Service Button #94a-5. Tice Book shows the back marks and dating.

I will bring my Albert and my Tice Button Books to the meeting.

Yep, one star after Co. on the backmark, puts it right in the Civil War period. Two stars will be post CW.
