CIVIL WAR BREAST PLATE??

I FOUND THIS ITEM AND DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT. IT IS LEAD OR PEWTER AND IS 3 INCHES LONG X 2 3/8 INCHES WIDE AND TWO HOLES ON THE BACK. IT LOOKS LIKE A BREAST PLATE FROM THE CIVIL WAR BUT I DO NOT KNOW.IF SOMEONE COULD HELP ME OUT WITH THE AGE,VALUE AND WHAT IT IS I WOULD BE SO THANKFUL. These show up once in awhile and always throw people for a loop. When I saw my first one, I thought it was some kind of accoutrement plate too but these are in fact pendulum weights for clocks.
I had the oppurtunity to see an intact clock with one of these patriotic pendulum weights on it a couple years ago. If someone had told me 4 years ago that these were clock weights, I wouldn't have beleived them but that is what they are.
