civil war and civil war relics...part 2

GRAY GHOST

New member
hello again, all. not trying to be a nuisance, but again would like to share with you some of the civil war and civil war era finds i've made in the past. to begin with, there's two civilian rosettes on the bottom. i thought the old square nail hook was cool, above the small rosette is a huge percussion cap, above that is a crudely made bronze ring, the three ammo pouch/ cap pouch finials above the nail are cool too, the two on the right are union, the small one being confederate. a bayonet scabbard end is in the center. to the right of that is another confederate ammo box finial. above that, are 3 large knapsack rivets. on top left, is a small lead ingot with a "v" on it. a treble clef sign in brass is next, and have you ever seen a five sided brass bolthead? now you have. at top right is an old brass thimble that i found right beside a confederate musketball on a bluff overlooking the river. the big rusty looking piece on the left is a knife made out of a file, but broken. the lines are still visible in places. enjoy the pics, sorry they are dark, good luck, and hh,

Great finds too be sure!!!
