civil war 22s

There were 22 caliber rimfire cartridge pistols used in the civil war as personal side arms.
Does anybody here have any they have dug and know them to be actual civil war vintage?
Is there any reference material in books or online that gives enough visual detail to identify actual civil war 22 bullets, compared to more modern ones?
I know I've dug some really old looking 22 bullets in fields with minies (not in the same hole), but never stopped to consider that they may have been used in the war, as well.
I've thrown all my 22 bullets away. Sure hope none of them were CW!

Thanks.
