The pot looks to be a 1k.
 
Very interesting. Thanks for the photo. Looks like the pot on your board is set where mine was. Setting it at about 11-o'clock made a noticeable difference in sensitivity for me. If you decide to try, make sure you know where it was originally and let us all know how the pot adjustment works out... Still don't know what it's designed to do I'm guessing it's a ground balance adjustment
