Circa 1860's Trunk Lock

Louisiana Ken

New member
I went back to the old Arcadian the other day. I decided to test myself in the most trashy irony area on the property. I went extremely slow, very low, left, right and diagonal w/ a 6x8 SEF coil. In about 3 1/2 hrs I covered a portion of a somewhat 20x12 section of the front yard. From the way the ETrac was continuously singing I wondered if I would have to change out the batteries during the hunt. Anyhow I was able to lock on to a few keepers. The 1st and 2nd pic show a lock to a trunk. I found a picture of one almost exactly like it on a Jenny Lind steamer trunk. The site stated the trunks were favored by the military and are super rare ( http://www.thepirateslair.com/antique-trunks/286-antique-trunk-1860s-civil-war-jenny-lind.html ). The 3rd pic shows a tag, piece of a spoon, small brass handle and a .925 silver ring. The 4th and 5th pic show a religious item. The last pic shows clad, bullets, etc. The coin below and left of the key is a 1902 "V" nickel. Most of the finds and trash (a lot of trash!) were between 1 and 2 inches down. I'll let you know what I find next.

Good Luck at Your Sites,

Kenny
