Cibola

Looking at a Cibola, any owner's have any advice? All is Greatly welcome,Thanks

I love mine. It has a ten turn ground balance and trigger switch mod done to it.

Honestly, it's really hard to tell much difference between it and a Vaquero, but for some reason I like the Cibola better.

That sucker is super light and deep. If you have mild ground and don't need a external ground balance go for it. If you need a GB get the Vaquero.

I live in Iowa and the ground is pretty good.So I have the Cibola and a compadreboth coming.
Thanks

I love the Cibola, I have owned two, it looked like a toy when I first got it. My previous detector was a 1266x Fisher. The Cibola is a far better detector. In one
summer I found over 5000 coins with it. Lightweight simple to use only takes one battery.
I highly recommend it.

Thanks for the info. I got rid of my Safari for the Cibola and a Compadre. Took the Compadre out this morning for a test trip to the tot lot here in town and I like the light weight and how easy it is to use. When it sounds off it is easy to tell if it is a coin by just using your thumb on the only nob it has.I think this one I will keep. I get to Take the Cibola out later if it doesn't start raining again. By the way I was in the same area that I ran the Safari many times and I was digging some deep targets this morning, maybe I didn't get the safari over these targets but this lot isn't that big.:usaflag:

I'm with tabman. I've owned two Vaqueros and one Cibola. I liked the Cibola better. Maybe I had a hot one ...(Cibola) who knows. My current Vaquero is a nice detector, don't get me wrong. But it doesn't make sense as the Vaquero adds all metal and a gb, maybe it was the green paint scheme...

I think I made a great trade ,got to take the Cibola for a test and all I can say is I will be keeping this one to . I am going back over everything I have detected before.Found my detectors after a lot of years and a lot of detectors!:usaflag:

HI GUYS,I AM NEW ON HERE,BEEN DETECTING FOR 25 YEARS. I HAVE WHITE PRO XL , GARRETT SEA HUNTER ,

( I LIVE IN THE KEYS) MINELAB XTERRA 705 AND CIBOLA. HAD A CIBOLA AND TEJON, SOLD BOTH. BAD MOVE, SO I BOUGHT ANOTHER CIBOLA, LIKED IT BETTER THAN MY TEJON, HAVE A 10/12 DD COIL ON MY CIBOLA. I THINK CIBOLA IS THE DEEPEST DETECTOR I HAVE.JUST AS DEEP AS TEJON.ITS THE BEST DETECTOR FOR ITS PRICE HANDS DOWN. MY DOWN UNDER DETECTOR I NAMED R2D2,,I THINK YOU KNOW WHY. HAVE A DD COIL ON IT. CIBOLA GOES DEEPER. WELL THATS IT. I LIKE READING THE POST ON HERE. KEEP UP THE GOOD JOB PEOPLE.

Glad you are liking the new Tesoro's. It's hard to convince people that simpler can be better. Finding the detector that works best for you can be quite an expensive and time consuming quest. Luckily for me I stumbled onto Tesoro early on. The best part is you got two great and capable detectors with lifetime warranties for way less than one Safari. Wait to you get a little more time on them and see how well they discriminate and separate. Good luck and happy hunting!

The only advice I can add is that I prefer the Cibola modified with the high tone version. I found I liked it better. You can buy high tone Cibolas. Tesoro makes them, but you have to specficially request it from your dealer and they are slightly more expensive.

I wish I would have found these sooner as I ran the gauntlet,Garrett 2500,White's MXT, Minelab Safari, couple of bounty hunters,Fisher F2. Now I have found what I like. All good machines I guess, just not for me, I am very happy with what I have.
Thanks everyone, I will be putting some finds on here real soon.:tesoro:
